To walk and to go slow

Once there was nothingness

I traipsed and staggered and shot out like a courser

Now, the terrain has luxuriant growth

So hold my hand and beat the path

If I fall here, teach me that there is no disgrace

Lend to me aid and help me learn,

To walk and to go slow

The perils ahead test my composure, still my heart

I beg of you ford the river, I cannot swim

Once in the boat row it and sit me down

And once at the shore, if I am delirious with the nightmares

Wipe my cheeks and with gentle chidings wake me up
